Raw Toothcare

Hey Steve, In another thread you mentioned that if you had to do it all over again that you'd leave your mercury fillings in. Why? Do you not think it's worth it? Have you not noticed any benefits?

--------
Hi Rawnga, I didn't feel any better after I got them replaced. And, I didn't feel bad before replacing them. I felt like I should have stuck to the adage, "If it's not broken, don't fix it." When I replaced them with "non-toxic" composites, several of the composites fell out over time. I have since replaced those with either Gold or other cosmetic composites. Steve

------
Cool! Thanks Steve! So what do you use to brush your teeth?

------
It varies. I use a variety of things. I don't rule out anything. I do floss a minimum of 1-2 times per day and brush 2 times per day... Things I like using and use often: Eco-Dent Auromere Gel-Kam by Colgate (must get from dentist...this is a stannous floride gel) PreviDent 5000 by Colgate (must get from dentist...this is a sodium floride gel) Baking Soda Salt Water I typically first brush with Eco-Dent or Auromere then brush with Gel-Kam or PreviDent 5000...then swish with salt water or H2O2--I usually swish and gargle with a 1.5% H2O2 solution after brushing. I like Gel-Kam more than PreviDent 5000. I believe stannous flouride has other benefits such as viral protection...from some research that has been done with stannous floride and herpes... Steve

--------
Steve, Are your gold fillings a gold composite? How did you know gold was the right replacemnet for you, were you kinesiotested for gold? Thanks for your forum by the way, we appreciate all the time you guys put into this!

------------
Steve, I wanted to add to my previous post after seeing your responses on another forum in regards to fillings, why do you feel so strongly that gold replacements are the best for other than cosmetic reasons?

---------
I was not kinesiotested for gold. I don't think I am allergic to gold since I have been wearing a 20K Gold wedding band for almost 5 years and have seen no negative effects on my body or energy as a result. If one has a known allergy to gold, I would either not use gold, or use a method such as NAET to remove the allergy. Also, it has been well researched over the years that gold metal is pretty inert when it comes in contact with human tissue. I think that is why the wealthy have always opted for gold for as long as metal fillings have been used. I am sure my fillings are a gold alloy. I don't think they are pure gold, but the next time I see the dentist which is in a couple of weeks, I will ask him what the constituants are. Also, since I believe in the power of gold ormes (ormus) as a spiritual and health tonic, I am not worried if I ingest some gold as a result of any degradation, whether it be in metallic, small cluster, or monatomic form or combined with another element. RE: 40-day self-transformation

HI Steve ! I've been on the rawfood journey for 5 plus years now, and have been at 100% for alot of that time, and had great success with Gabriel Cousens' Rainbow Green Live-it. I was extremely disciplined, rebounding daily, mountain climbing, etc., and then began somehow to get hooked (feeding my emotions, and probably the dying fungal population in my body) on smoothies with bananas and almond butter in them. That started in February and I now weigh 30 pounds more than I did a year ago. (However I look pretty good, as the weight has gone on evenly except in my belly). I've also been eating some organic corn chips an amy's pizzas for the past year, and have recently re-committed to tryi8ng to be 100% raw. So, today I am begining a 40-day program of sungazing, rebounding, meditating, yoga, some fasting, etc., and am wondering whether you can suggest anything that you think would contribute to this. I'm looking for advice / support in figuring out what I need to do in the way of what to eat / drink / etc., to bring my weight back down and conquer the addiction to sweet, creamy, thick dessert-like foods. I have also noticed that since last year, only when I'm overdoing sweets, that my upper arms hurt, and also my knees on occasoin (nothing like this ever happens when I'm 100% raw) (hmmm, ave I answered my own question ???).... IAlso, what do you recommend for a 56 year old menopausal woman to increase libido, and bring hormaonal levels up ? Thank you, Kathleen

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Kathleen, In my opinion, you are at a critical point in your raw food journey. Firstly, I am a 39 year old man, not a 56 year old woman. I am happy to give you my insights, but it would be wise to seek those of a woman experienced in raw foods as well in your particular situation. If you don't know of any, I can perhaps refer you to some. 1) READ: http://www.naturaw.com/raw_food_diet.html 2) When you say you had great success on Gabriel's program, what exactly do you mean? What is your definition of success in this situation? A question to ponder is: If you were extremely disciplined, was that good? If you have to be so disciplined to follow something, it could be an indication that something is out of balance for your particular situation at this point in your life. From one perspective, a 100% raw food diet is a fast from our existing human situation, culture, society, etc. We all arrive with this human legacy of the way things are and have been. Sometimes, one must non-judgementally accept things as they currently are and release any negative thoughts and/or emotions concerning the state of affairs before one can move forward and transcend in a natural way. I love what HRM (sungazing expert) says about food. 3) You can get fat on raw foods. That is ok or not ok depending on your viewpoint, self-image, values, and current health condition. Do you feel better at your current weight? If yes, why change? If not, then change. The great thing is that you have total command over the whole situation and can choose as you like. If you are living in a very cold climate, you might want to be heavier. Or, you might need the weight to buffer yourself from an uncomfortable emotional or social situation which may need to be looked at closely or changed as you have already mentioned. 4) It could be as simple as adding a few ingredients to your diet! Experiment! Try other superfoods like cacao, goji berries, bee-pollen, maca, mineral supplementation, etc. 5) If you feel you have a fungal problem, seek fungal removal remedies! There are many! Herbal Cleanses, water or green juice fasting with heating herbs, Sunshine, Enzymes, Pro-biotics (eat them by the handful at every meal!). Seek somebody who can do a live blood and mineral analysis on your body. 6) Do you have a history of food/weight issues or disorders? I am curious. Why do you feel a need to recommit to 100% raw? If you are "trying" then you are "lying" to yourself about committing... Just because "nothing like this ever happens when I'm 100% raw", does not logically or scientifically mean that you can't find health and balance on a diet other than 100% raw. You have yet to find LONG TERM balance on a 100% raw diet from the sounds of it. But, it can be achieved, you probably just need more knowledge, self-experimentation, patience, flexibility, etc. Revisit # 1) ABOVE. 7) "So, today I am begining a 40-day program of sungazing, rebounding, meditating, yoga, some fasting, etc., and am wondering whether you can suggest anything that you think would contribute to this." -- What are you planning to eat during this time? Without knowing, It is hard for me to suggest anything other than the following: Eat plenty of superfoods, liquids, and minerals. Stay accountable to somebody. Do fun things. Get your mind out of the picture as much as possible. In other words, stay in your sacred heart which is at the center of your soul and your connection to the love that you are and God. Be of service to other people somehow during this time. Have massive gratitude and admiration daily for something in your life. Let forgiveness of others and self be in your thoughts and heart daily. Sungaze. Innocently perceive everything without judgement, filters, preconceived ideas, etc. 8 ) Libido...want more...eat concentrated protein. Bee Pollen, Spirulina, Royal Jelly, Maca, etc. In the mid-nineties I was eating about a cup of bee pollen a day for a period of time, and was experiencing 2-3 wet dreams per week. If you are not opposed to animal products, eat some meat, eggs, dairy, fish, etc. either cooked or uncooked. Be careful of microorganism overload if uncooked. Try to eat wild game only if possible. Or, eat organic animals that have been raised in a very humane manner!! Do sexually stimulating things...only you would know what those are!! NOTE: My wife just started eating more protein and taking "THE ULTIMATE MEAL" a raw vegan supplement highly concentrated in protein and her libido has increased SIGNIFICANTLY! 9) Protein increase will probably help you lose weight. That is why the "south beach" diet amongst other similar diets are so popular. In my opinion the 4 food groups are sugar, salt, fat, and protein. Your body is always moving from needing one to another in a natural way. If you stay away from one, eventually an imbalance will occur...Do you find yourself overeating one of the above four in order to try and satisfy a craving that has been set up due to a prior mental rule that is in place which doesn't "allow" one of the others in the group? It's nearly impossible to accumulate enough mental knowledge in the course of a lifetime to understand 3000 million years of biological evolution. This boils down to "listen" to your body, feelings, and emotions... BTW, the fifth critical element is water of course... 10) Diet is RELATIVE! It is dynamic! It serves many purposes and changes according to MANY factors including age, sex, health condition, altitude, season, etc.. Follow your heart and not your mind when choosing your diet in the moment. Your heart is your higher intelligence. Just increasing the frequency of your sacred heart will refine your diet (done through love, service, sun gazing, etc) ...If this is too hard to do in the beginning...don't give up! Keep practicing and you will find you gain in time! In the meantime learn to muscle test or use a pendulum to determine what your body needs. Hope this helps! Steve

RE: the back of my head is producing copious amounts of sweat

interestingly, i've been on only raw foods for almost two weeks. i've been jogging almost everyday. i live in texas, so it's definately hot enough to be sweating a lot. what's weird is that i've been sweating so much from, i guess you could say the base of my brain. right between the "groove" at the bottom of my skull, and down to the top of my neck. the first day i noticed this, i sweat like this for an hour after i got home. (from jogging) my hair was wet, as though i had just come out of a pool, for a whole hour!. it's happened two other times. any idea what may be detoxing from my brain from this specific area? i assume this is a good thing. since i've been in amazing moods lately and i attribute it to raw, amoung a few herbs and spirulina. thanks. and welcome. blueberry

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Blueberry, What a cool screen name and quite an interesting place from which to be profusely sweating! As to exactly WHAT is coming out, is rather hard for me to say...but from the sounds of it, it is a good thing! I remember when I was transitioning to a raw diet I had all kinds of weird things happen...For instance, I have never had hay fever symtoms except during my transition to a raw food diet when for a couple of weeks I couldn't stop tearing, sneezing, and wiping my running nose. Then, about a year into being nearly 100% raw, I had a bunch of weird mental images appear in my mind randomly (some of which were quite grotesque). I figured some sort of weird brain chemistry was precipitating out of my head. Sometimes when I detox, my feet or hands or underarms will start sweating profusely. My head will sometimes sweat a lot if I eat a lot of peppers. I looked up a diagram of all the endocrine glands, and I don't see one located near the back of the skull...I was thinking maybe one of the glands in the brain was detoxing...perhaps it is... I wish I could tell you exactly what it is...but whatever it is, it sounds like it is something to bless! All the Best! Steve

RE: low-glycemic eating

welcome to the boards, steve!! i'm very interested in your experience with low-glycemic raw diets, specifically Rainbow Green. my partner and i have been all raw for years, and have gotten WAY healthier in so many ways, but have reason to suspect that we still have a slight fungal issue, such as flatulence after eating (mostly from fruit), and bloating (for me). have you ever done the phase one rainbow green diet, or anything similar to that? if so, what has your experience been? we experimented with doing phase one for about six weeks (including NFL's cacao nibs) near the beginning of this year, and although there were some positive benefits of it (i remember feeling more emotionally balanced, and having a little less bloating), it felt pretty imbalancing in other ways. thank you so much for any input/insight! courtney
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Courtney, Thanks for the welcome! I have varied my diet considerably over the last 12 years and really stretched the envelope in all directions. I can only really speak from personal experience since I am not a clinician. A couple of ideas regarding flatulance: 1) Sometimes it is from keeping a very static diet since after a while your body becomes saturated with the same nutrients and thus the nutrients don't absorb anymore (simple physics principle)...therefore, they sit in your gut and ferment and purtrify...result...gas! 2) It might be time to do a MASSIVE intestinal cleanse. I did a hardcore 30 day Arise and Shine last summer and you would not believe the gas that came out during about a week period during that cleanse...afterward, I was fine. Could be a lot of crud stuck to your intestinal walls. 3) Enzymes and Probiotics...eat them by the handful during every meal for about a month and see what happens! 4) For a short period of time, say about 1 month, change your diet as much as possible without throwing yourself into a state of total chaos. Sometimes we work ourselves into a bio-dynamic equilibrium for a short period of time which works wonderfully, but the same inputs long term become less than optimal. Then, after about a month, go back to your preferred way of eating and see what happens. 5) Only for the ADVANCED: Do about a 3 to 10 day water fast. This gives the digestive tract the opportunity to "BURN" everything away. The longer you can go without messing your life up (unless that is needed!), the better. Green Juice fasting will also work if there are enough fire elements (ginger, garlic, cayenne, clove, heating herbs, etc.) in the juice, but it will take a longer time. Citrus and Granny Smith Apple Juice has also worked for me in the past, but please consider that I am a very slow oxidizer with O negative blood and have a very strong immune system and constitution. 6) Do some hardcore exercise on a REGULAR basis - In the Sun preferrably. 7) Sun Gaze in the morning and evening. This has a HUGE effect on digestion and it is a positive one! 8 ) Eat less than you normally would at every meal. Remain hungry. Eat very slow. And, pray and give blessings during the whole food prep and eating process knowing that what you are eating is exactly nourishing your body in the most perfect way. Have massive gratitude for all who have brought the food to you including God or Love or whatever your beliefs are... 9) Don't be too rigid about any of this. Relax over the whole subject. It is ok to make mistakes. That is how you learn about your particular body which is unique in the Universe. Just some ideas... Aloha! Steve
